There are three ways you can downlad PlexStock. First using Java Web Start, second using setup.jar, third using PlexStock.zip file. We suggest that you use Java Web Start method because with that option you will get automatic updates for future enhancements and bug fixes to the program and would not need to reinstall upgrades.

Java Web Start (Preferred)

Note 1: When you will run PlexStock first time, Java Web Start will show warning message that the application is requesting unlimited security access. PlexStock needs this
access to access internet databases and save them locally. Note 2: If you are using netscape, you will need to restart it after installing Java Web Start and before downloading PlexStock.

Java Web Start

Click here to launch PlexStock via Java Web Start (after installing Java Web Start).

After installing Java 1.4 and downloading PlexStock.zip, follow these procedures:
  1. Create a directory somewhere on your disk, for example
    C:\PlexStock
  2. Unzip PlexStock.zip in that directory.
  3. Open shell such as DOS shell or bash
  4. cd to the "lib" directory where PlexStock.zip was unzipped. For example cd \PlexStock\lib
  5. Type java -jar StartPlexstock.jar If you have Windows you can also create a shortcut to your desktop by
    • right-cliking on your desktop
    • select New
    • select shortcut
    • choose "Browse..." to go in bin directory such as "\PlexStock\lib"
    • double-click StartPlexstock.jar
    • click Next and type PlexStock for shortcut-name
    • click Finish.
First time, when you launch PlexStock, it will bring a setup wizard that will prompt you to enter registration information.
