|PlexDomain - Domain Management Application
There are tens of millions of domains registered all of the world and every day thousands of these domains expires. Many of these expired domains have history of high traffic to their websites. Such domains may have had thousands of links on popular search engines or listed on popular directories such as Yahoo or DMOZ and may have high ranking on sites such as Alexa. Building such traffic is time consuming and may take years. In addition, listing on directories such as Yahoo can cost $299.0 for mainstream site or $599.0 for adult sites. Though, Yahoo has free submission to noncommercial categories, but there is no guarantee and it may take several months. Yahoo receives on average 15000 submissions per day to these noncommercial categories, thus there is very long waiting period.
PlexDomain provides a toolset to search, analyze, monitor and register popular on-hold and deleted domains. It allows users to search deleted, on-hold, and registered domains. Users can check traffic for these sites from dozens of popular search engines and directories such as Yahoo, DMOZ, AltaVista, Lycos, etc. Users can specify criteria for accepting domains, such as the sites that must exist in Yahoo-Directory or DMOZ-Directory category or have a minimum of N links to them or have a minimum of X rating on Alexa website. These searches can be done in foreground or as a scheduled job which runs in background. This scheduled job can be run on regular interval automatically. The scheduled job creates a detailed report and can email report to the user when done.
Major features include:

MONITORING DOMAINS FOR AVAILABILITY
PlexDomain allows users to schedule background jobs to check for the availability of domains on regular basis. It then shows status of those domains and emails the results to the users.

Once user has list of domains he searched from either keyword-search or deleted lists, he/she can then check those domains in popular search engines and directories. User can select the number of links for each domain in:
The user can specify minimum number of links to accept, or if they must exist in Yahoo, DMOZ or LookSmart or minimum ranking of site on Alexa website. PlexDomain will then search all these domains and automatically purge all domains which do not meet criteria and highlight popular domains.
POWER SEARCH FOR AVAILABLE DOMAINS
PlexDomain allows users to specify or load from an external file, a
list of keywords, top-level-domains with a set of prefix and suffix words
and it generates all possible domain names. It then checks each of
those domains against whois server and shows list of available domains.
The user can either search for available domains in foreground, where
PlexDomain searches and displays the available domains, but user cannot
perform other tasks while PlexDomain is searching. Alternatively, user
can schedule a background job, which searches for available domains and
then saves those domains. The results can also be emailed to the user
PlexDomain can retrieve Google's PageRank for user-specified URLs or filter domains based on their PageRank.
PlexDomain allows users export and import domains from list of domains to analyze. In addition, user can type-in data. These domains can be then used by filtering process that selects popular domains.
PlexDomain uses multi-threading for searching and filtering domains, where each search is run in its own thread. This improves overall throughput for processing domains and reduce bottlenecks from serial processing.
PlexDomain caches results of web searches. Thus, when a user performs the same search it will be done much quickly. The cache results are kept for one or two days and can also be cleared by the user.
SCHEDULING BATCH JOBS
PlexDomain allows users to schedule a search or filtering task, which is run in background. The user can specify one-time or recurring batch jobs which are run on regular interval. The results of these batch jobs are automatically stored in a local file and a detailed HTML-based report is created. The user can choose an option to receive this report automatically when the job is completed. This allows users to schedule a job to search for newly-deleted domains and store popular domains for later viewing.
PlexDomain allows users to search for whois-records for registered or soon-to-expire domains. It also parses whois-records and identifies important information such as contact, registration date, expiration date, etc.
